Causes of Water Leaks at the Toilet Base
Toilets use nearly 27% of water in the average home and are the most common place that water leaks occur.
There are many different causes for a toilet to leak at the base.
Examples:
- Wax or rubber gasket failure is the most common problem.
- Toilet has not been properly mounted.
- Toilet flange has not been properly mounted.
- Crack in the toilet bowl.
- A hot water connection can cause the wax to melt.
- It can be an uncommon manufacturer’s defect.
